Inflated Real Estate Prices
In 1987, I bought a house in Moreno Valley for
just over $100,000 when similar property in Los Angeles would have sold for $300,000 - $400,000. Moreno Valley wasn't considered commutable to Los Angeles; good paying jobs didn't exist within reasonable driving distance; and all of the amenities of the big city were in seemingly distant Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Now, my house is probably worth $300,000 and God knows how much a similar house would go for in Los Angeles.
Dare I say $1,000,000.
So... How did we get here from there?

As the summer heats up in Moreno Valley, the brewmeisters at BJ's Restaurant/Brewery are keeping the IE on ice! If you haven't yet sampled the delectable cuisine and Euro-American brew of BJ's, you're missing out. BJ's Restaurants Inc. recently opened its doors to the exploding community of Moreno Valley on March 22, 2005. The 7,000 square foot freestanding restaurant at Town Gate Plaza is located at 22920 Centerpoint Drive, directly off the 60 Freeway.
